Isla Theatre Project presents their English-language production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ this festive season, in a version including music and song.  This magical telling of the Ebenezer Scrooge story is complete with Christmas Carols, and suitable for all the family. This festive treat is on at the Teatre Municipal Catalina Valls on the Paseo de Mallorca in Palma from this Friday (12th) until Sunday 21st December. For another dose of English-language theatre, the Morgana Theatre Company is offering their production of Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’ at Palma Auditorium’s Sala Mozart in Palma.  It’s on every night until this Sunday (14th), with curtain up at 7pm. Get your tickets from the Auditorium box office.

This year’s Es Refugi Christmas Market is the 24th and it takes place from Thursday this week (11th) until Saturday 13th, from 10.30am until 8.30pm. The venue is the courtyard of La Misericordia in Palma. The market includes Christmas decorations, books, children’s clothing, local handicrafts, furniture, tombola and more. Entrance is just one euro, with children going in free.

Saturday, December 13th is the day of the Swedish Santa Lucia celebrations and, in Palma, at 8pm in Plaza Cort, students from the Swedish School will sing traditional Christmas carols. You’ll be able to enjoy a glass of glögg wine and, from 5pm, browse a small Christmas market selling typical Swedish festive gifts and decorations. If you prefer a daytime celebration, the Swedish School singers will perform in Rialto Living at 1pm, where glögg will also be served.

On Sunday (14th), the Choir of the University of the Balearic Islands performs a Christmas concert at Palma Auditorium, at 12 noon. Tickets are 16 euros from the Palma Auditorium box office or online at www.auditoriumpalma.com

Also this Sunday, at 8pm, the Mallorca Gay Men’s Chorus performs their Christmas special “Hello, Musik!” at the Trui Teatre in Palma. Get your tickets at the theatre box office.


This Thursday (11th) The Musicmakers perform a Christmas Singalong in Puerto Pollensa, at the Vecino Rooms at 7.30pm. All proceeds from the 5 euros entry fee go to charity, and mulled wine and mince pies are included in the ticket price.


This coming Saturday and Sunday it’s the Palmanova Christmas Extravaganza, taking place on the seafront. The weekend includes a Christmas market, non-stop international entertainment, a Christmas parade at 4pm on the Sunday, candlelight carols, mince pies and mulled wine.


This Sunday (14th) it’s the Christmas market in Binissalem, happening in the Plaza de la Iglesia, from 10am until 9pm.
