II Edition of the Joan Hunt Awards Ceremony organised by the Málaga Provincial Council and Cudeca Hospice Foundation

• This was the second edition of these awards created by the Provincial institution and Cudeca to highlight the important contribution of foreign residents to the province, as explained by Francisco Salado, president of Málaga Provincial Council.

• The President recalled that 300,000 people of foreign nationalities live in the province, a population that represents 17% of the total population in Málaga, which gained 34,000 residents in 2022, more than the other seven Andalusian provinces combined.

Talk Radio. Communication Award.
“Talk Radio Europe is the English-speaking radio station par excellence on the Costa del Sol,” said Francisco Salado. “Not only does it provide important information for the British community, but it is also a key player in the selfless promotion of Cudeca’s events.
Cudeca’s relationship with Talk Radio Europe goes back to the early years of the station on the Costa del Sol and, also the early years of the Foundation. Martin Nathan, Chairman of the station met Joan Hunt almost 30 years ago. Thanks to Martin Nathan’s commitment to the Foundation, the radio station has been one of the main media outlets supporting Cudeca’s cause and charity events to make them more accessible to the community. Its reach has grown over the years, and, at present, its informative action has a high media impact that allows it to reach many more people on the Costa del Sol and southern Spain, Costa Blanca, and the Balearic Islands.
The media impact generated by the radio station in support of Cudeca is more than one million euros, based on an estimate of its pro bono work for the Cudeca Foundation since its inception.
Martin Nathan was the originator of the slogan for Cudeca’s second crowdfunding campaign, “One in a million”, in honor and memory of Joan Hunt.
